Hlíðavöllur is Golfklúbbur Mosfellsbæjar’s 18-hole championship course, located along the coast of Leirvog in Mosfellsbær. The course offers sweeping views of the sea and Mount Esja, with Snæfellsjökull glacier also visible across the water on clear days.

The layout combines two distinct sections: an older section with shorter fairways and slightly elevated greens, and a newer section with considerably longer fairways and larger greens. The club also operates Bakkakot, a separate nine-hole course in Mosfellsdal, known for its tree-lined fairways and peaceful valley setting.

What to Expect

A varied coastal round with generous fairways, large greens and natural lava formations. The older and newer sections offer different challenges, while views across the bay and towards Mount Esja accompany much of the round.

Midnight Golf

During the summer, extended daylight hours make it possible to enjoy golf late into the evening. Hlíðavöllur offers special midnight golf tee times from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., allowing visitors to experience Iceland’s long summer nights on a coastal championship course.

Facilities

The Klettur clubhouse features BLIK Bistro & Grill and a pro shop. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting greens, and chipping and bunker practice areas. Golf carts, trolleys and rental club sets are available for visiting golfers.
