A Week of Golf & Discovery

Experience a self-drive week of golf and discovery in Iceland, combining five distinctive courses with some of the country’s most memorable natural and cultural experiences. Play among lava fields, along dramatic coastlines and beside rivers, with midnight golf at Brautarholt during early summer, while discovering the Golden Circle and Þingvellir, whale watching from Reykjavík and relaxing in the Blue Lagoon. Explore at your own pace in your rental car, with a programme customised to your travel preferences, hotel choice and travel dates.

Your Golf Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Reykjavík

   Collect your rental car at Keflavík International Airport and drive to your Reykjavík hotel, a journey of about 45 minutes. After check-in, settle in with a stroll through central Reykjavík, with the evening free for dinner.

   
2. Day 2

   Whale Watching & Oddur Golf Club

   A whale-watching cruise from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour in Faxaflói Bay, where minke whales, humpbacks, dolphins and puffins are seen in summer, followed by golf at Oddur Golf Club in Garðabær — a par-71 heathland course flanked by lava from the dormant volcano Búrfell.

   
3. Day 3

   Geysir, Gullfoss & Kiðjaberg

   Visit the Haukadalur geothermal area where Strokkur erupts every few minutes, continue to Gullfoss waterfall, and stop for lunch at the Friðheimar tomato greenhouse, before an afternoon round at Kiðjaberg — named Iceland’s Best Golf Course in 2024.

   
4. Day 4

   Golf at Hlíðavöllur

   Just 20 minutes from central Reykjavík, Hlíðavöllur is set along the shoreline of Leirvogur bay beneath Mount Esja, moving between open coastal holes and heathland sections. The rest of the day is free to explore the city.

   
5. Day 5

   Þingvellir & Midnight Golf at Brautarholt

   Visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian plates meet, then tee off late in the evening at Brautarholt on the Kjalarnes peninsula, playing into the midnight sun with panoramic sea views. Midnight sun golf runs June to mid-July; later in the season the round is played in the evening.

   
6. Day 6

   Golf at Keilir & Blue Lagoon

   Play Keilir in Hafnarfjörður, where the front nine winds through rugged lava fields and the back nine follows a links-style peninsula with Atlantic views. Spend the afternoon at the Blue Lagoon, then return to Reykjavík for a free final evening.

   
7. Day 7

   Departure

   Enjoy a relaxed final morning in Reykjavík before driving to Keflavík Airport and returning your rental car.
